Dr. Barry Yu

Dr Barry Yu completed his dental degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Prior to that, he graduated with Honours in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Davis.

Since graduating in 2007, Dr Yu has practised dentistry in the United States, Hong Kong, and Singapore, bringing nearly two decades of clinical experience to his work at Penn Pacific Dental Center.

His clinical focus is on the diagnosis and management of dental pain, cracked teeth, and root canal treatment. He has pursued postgraduate training in endodontics beyond his dental degree, with a focus on endodontic diagnosis and treatment planning, including retreatment cases and teeth with more complex root canal anatomy.

Dr Yu performs root canal treatment using a dental operating microscope, which enhances visualisation of the root canal system during treatment.

 

He takes a careful approach to assessment and explains options clearly before treatment begins, and where possible, favours a conservative approach focused on preserving natural teeth.

He is licensed to practise in Singapore and in the State of California, and has passed licensing examinations in the United States and Hong Kong.
